Bloomsburg Falls to IUP in Women's Basketball

BLOOMSBURG-The Bloomsburg University women's basketball team fell to Indiana (Pa) University, 59-56, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic (PSAC) crossover game on Saturday afternoon.
The game was tightly contested throughout, with 12 lead changes in the game. The Huskies held a 56-55 lead with just 1:28 remaining after Laura Lyons (Hatfield/ Pennridge) connected on a jump shot.
However, IUP responded on their next possession with a lay-up by Staci Heberling to take a 57-56 lead. The Huskies had several chances to retake the lead but could not convert. IUP then added two free throws to increase their lead to 59-56.
The Huskies had a chance to tie the game with 10 seconds remaining but Lyons three-point attempt was off the-mark.
Freshman Bianca Lee (Temple Hills, MD/ Archbishop Carroll) led all scorers with 21 points and also grabbed ten rebounds. Colleen Kegerreis (Schuykill Haven/ Schuykill Haven) also registered a double-double, scoring 10 points and grabbing 11 boards, while Lyons added 17 points. Katie Glaws led IUP with 13 points, while Heberling added 12.
Bloomsburg, 3-3, will host Clarion tomorrow at 1 p.m.
